Applications are still being accepted for TRU’s Computer Systems Operating Management Diploma (CSOM) program for September 2012 or January 2013. TRU’s 2-year CSOM program provides wonderful opportunities for international students. Here are just a few benefits of this program:
● Eligibility for 3-year Post-grad work permit leading to immigration opportunities.
● Option to ladder into TRU’s 4-year Bachelor of Computing Science degree program (2+2).
● Exceptional opportunities for Co-op work experience after the first year of study.
This summer, eight of TRU’s international Computer Science students were hired by Research in Motion (The Blackberry Company). Last year, nine international students were hired by RIM. CSOM Co-op students are also being hired by IBM, Telus (one of the largest telecommunication providers in
Canada) and Hewlett Packard (HP) to name a few. Co-op students are selected based on academic performance and are immediately productive in a variety of jobs including:
● Computer Programming
● Systems Analysis and Design
● Network Administration
● Client Support
Graduates from CSOM have the technical and business skills necessary to succeed in the IT sector as programmers, computer systems analysts and
computer support specialists. Employers are seeing the value in this program that combines technical and computer skills with communication skills
(written and oral) and business skills.
