  • Both campuses recently received $90 million in expansion funds, resulting in the construction of six new academic wings including:
    • Completely new learning facilities for ESL Studies
    • A state of the art multimedia language lab with the latest electronic resources
    • $40-million 100,000 square-foot Applied Health Institute with state-of-the-art multimedia classrooms
    • An athletic center including full gym facilities exceeding college pro standards
    • An expanded learning commons combining relaxing study areas and the latest library technology

All-Inclusive

  • More importantly, the use of all these new facilities is free for all students.
  • No need to pay extra for gym memberships, additional library, computer, or lab costs: all amenities are complementary at Niagara College.

Canadian Work Opportunities

At present, the Canadian government allows the following work options for international students:

  • Co-operative Education (Co-op)
    Co-op means paid work experience, and many of our programs deliver four to eight months of paid work experience. In practice, our 98% work term placement rate means Niagara is one of Canada’s leaders in Co-op education.
  • Internship and Practicum
    Many of our programs contain internship and practicum positions. These short-term, program-related openings will allow you to develop specific skills within professional work settings.
  • On-Campus and Off-Campus Work
    You will be able to work on-campus while you are studying. After completing six months of study, you will be entitled to apply for an off-campus work visa which allows you to work 20 hours during the school year and full-time during the vacations.
  • Postgraduate Work
    Upon completion of your program, you will be able to work in Canada up to three years. The abilities you develop during these years will give you the opportunity to combine Canadian work experience with your education helping you launch your career and turning you into a global player.

ACCOMMODATION

  • Spacious Suites
    The spacious residences at the Welland Campus offer 117 double suites while the Niagara-on- the-Lake Campus offers 101 double suites, all with kitchenette, bathroom, and light housekeeping duties.
  • The best feature is that they are steps away from classes and campus facilities.
  • You will have your own furnished bedroom and share kitchen and washroom facilities with one other student.
  • Each bedroom includes a television and internet connection.
  • Students must buy and cook their own meals.
  • The kitchen includes a fridge and microwave.
  • A meal plan is available on campus.
  • You will also be expected to buy or bring bedding, cooking utensils and cleaning supplies.
